Hips & Shoulders: Yin yoga and myofascial release workshop

In my yin yoga classes, one of the most common requests is to work on the hips and shoulders! So I am happy to invite you to this afternoon of delving deeply into self myofascial release using tennis balls and other props to provide relief from tension, pain, stiffness and limited range of motion in these areas.

Myofascial release works to address adhesions in the connective tissue system and the effects are immediate. We will work specifically with trigger points in the soft tissues, which are often responsible for referring pain elsewhere in the body.

Our Yin Yoga practice will continue to unravel areas of congestion and restriction in the pelvic and shoulder girdle so that you will leave the workshop with a greater understanding of your body and the knowledge to maintain this work at home yourself.

This workshop is suitable for all levels including beginners.

Tennis balls will be provided. However, if you are keen to continue self maintenance at home, I can highly recommend investing in some myofascial balls. My favourite ones are Rad Rounds and I use them daily! Be sure to buy two packs so that you get two of each size, since many techniques require two balls of the same size to be used at one time.
