Blast away the winter blues!
Greetings to you all. We are nearly at the end of winter and perhaps feeling that we’ve had enough of the cold weather! This month’s workshop will help to brighten up your weekend and banish the last of the winter blues. Also you can read my new feature ‘On and off the mat’. In this first installment I share my meditation journey with you. Namaste.
Heart Opening Yoga Workshop
Saturday 23rd February 2.00 – 4.30pm
With February being the month of Valentine’s day, I thought it fitting to offer you this workshop to open our hearts. We will explore many ways in which to open the front of our bodies including chest and shoulder openers plus a variety of invigorating backbending asanas.
We will ease upper body tension that we may have accumulated over the cold winter months, leaving us feeling open hearted, energised and ready for the spring time!
Meditation and Yoga Nidra will wind up the afternoon.
Venue: Revitalise Brighton, 123a Western Road, Brighton BN3 1DB
Unable to join me for this workshop? You may wish to read one of my previous blog posts (http://one-yoga.co.uk/2012/02/focus-february/) on the subject of heart opening which includes a few tips for opening your chest and shoulders.
On and off the mat
This feature will be making a regular appearance in my newsletter and may include anything from offering some tips to help you refine an asana to ideas of how you can incorporate yoga into your daily life. I would welcome your ideas for any subjects you would like covered and if you click through to my website to read the full article, you can leave a comment by clicking where indicated under the article heading.
I would also love to share my personal yoga journey with you – perhaps I will be working on a new method in my practice or maybe I’ve got an interesting book to recommend to you. Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy it.
A Mindful Life
I’m not usually one to make New Year’s resolutions but one thing I really wanted to maintain this year is a daily meditation practice. In the past, I have managed four months or so of daily practice at a time but then excuses arise to skip the practice. The odd missed day leads to a few missed days and then, just like any discipline in life, the longer it is left, the harder it becomes to re-establish the routine. Then, rather than my daily meditation being a dedicated time for just that, it gets tagged onto the end of my asana practice, but this way it feels rushed and not particularly structured. To read more click here.
