Taking the plunge – advanced teacher training!

Yoga Medicine – 500 hour teacher training with Tiffany Cruikshank

I am thrilled to share the news that I have enrolled for my advanced (500hr) teacher training with Yoga Medicine by Tiffany Cruikshank. A long-term commitment, my training will involve 300 hours of study in modular format. I can pick and choose which modules to study, in worldwide locations, at my own pace.

It was over 8 years ago that I graduated from my 200 hour teacher training in India to set up my own classes in the Brighton area. Shortly after, my own teacher in Brighton ceased running her schedule of weekly classes to return to full time employment in the corporate world – much to my dismay! Since then, I have been waiting for my next teacher, or ‘guru’ if you will, to appear.

My ongoing study and participation in workshops and teacher intensives has developed my own practice and teaching whilst also giving me insight into the areas which really interest me – anatomy & physiology and the therapeutic application of yoga.

Tiffany & GinnyI found U.S. based Tiffany Cruikshank via online yoga classes and was immediately influenced and hugely inspired by her teaching. A yogi since the age of 14, Tiffany has devoted over two decades to the study of yoga and holistic medicine including Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics. I was delighted when she came to London last year to teach a weekend of workshops in May and after taking her 4-day teacher intensive in October (advanced anatomy & biomechanics of the hip), it was clear to me that the path for my future as a yoga practitioner and teacher was right in front of me!

Tiffany’s Yoga Medicine training program is non-dogmatic and ‘focuses on a deeper understanding of western anatomy & physiology and its application to the traditional yoga philosophy’. This approach is completely aligned with my belief that yoga is a practice in which one size doesn’t fit all, that anyone of any age or background can benefit if the practice is adapted for them, whether they be a tri-athlete, a busy parent, a high flyer in the city or an arthritic senior citizen.

I’m hugely excited that I have a direction for taking my studies and practice to the next level with my inspirational teacher and to become part of the international Yoga Medicine community.
